Legislator from Brown Rudnick Holds District Meeting.

House Republican leader Lawrence Cafero protests from time to time that he maintains a discrete separation between the law firm he works for, Brown Rudnick, and its busy lobbying arm.  Cafero maintains that he doesn’t even know who the lobbying shop’s clients are.  He’s a real estate lawyer.  Lobbying? Nothing to do with him, though he’s frequently spotted in the company of Brown Rudnick lobbyists at the Capitol.

Last Thursday, Brown Rudnick held its annual wine party. Clients were invited, as were many legislators. Some Republican legislators grumbled again that they are expected to attend the boozy event.

It’s hard to see how Cafero does not breech his Chinese wall on this long night.

Here is the Norwalk/Brown Rudnick legislator with some of the partygoers, including state Representative Matthew Ritter, whose father is a Brown Rudnick lobbyist and close ally of Cafero, who knows nothing of the lobbying practices practices.

Cafero has always been full of it. The most bi-partisan thing at the capitol are the power cliques. Larry and Tommy hanging out in the hallway with their buds. Like Curry used to say, the capitol is “high school with money”.

With Cafero, you’re ‘family’ when he can get something from you, when he can’t, you don’t exist.

So what is it that you are implying? Cafero was at an event for his law firm… so what? Is this news? Sounds to me like you are a desperate ‘journalist’ grasping for relevance by drawing ridiculous and unfounded accusations. Let us know when you have something intelligent, rational, or significant to report.

Until the people of Connecticut finally get their fill and throw ALL the bums out, don’t expect any changes. No more hiding and avoiding the inevitable.

The best business in the state is the moving business!

Nobody cares anymore. This is a non-story like shootings in Hartford. Corruption is the new norm. CT is lost and both sides are just picking at the scraps, sucking the last drops of blood like the leeches they are, and getting the best stuff for themselves before the total collapse comes. Meh. See ya CT.

The Cafero for Governor staff are very online savvy, they’ll be pounding you on anything negative you write about da man Kev. Not representative of the general public.

Two Questions:
1) Does anyone wonder why this lobbying company would pick up the tab for a celebration of ??? the legislative process??? Come on.
2) I wonder if Mr. Cafero recuses himself from votes on bills that his firm lobbies on?

Brown Rudnick has a gigantic lobbying operation as one commenter noted. Brown Rudnick tells the people in Norwich they cant take the work because it would create an appearance of impropriety.
