Update: Manchester Shooter Was Fired For Stealing From Employer.
Omar S. Thornton, the alleged shooter in the Hartford Distributors killings this morning, had been under camera surveillance for allegedly stealing from the company, according to source familiar with details leading up to today’s tragedy. Thornton was fired this morning. He is said to have returned to the building in Manchester and shot the two employees who had told him he was fired.
Thornton proceeded to the warehouse and began shooting others. At that early hour, deliver trucks were being loaded with beer and alcohol. Only one truck had left the warehouse when the carnage began. He ran along the loading platform shooting some and sparing others. Employees pleaded with Thornton to stop and put the gun down. One wheelchair-bound employee working behind a desk, implored Thornton not to kill her. He replied that because she was in a wheelchair he would not.
Employees fled the building and ran into the woods. Thornton appears to have walked through the building and parking lot for more than an hour, keeping police and medical teams from providing assistance to the wounded. Thornton had worked for Hartford Distributors for approximately 2 years.

I feel bad for those he shot and terrorized by his actions and hopefully he turned the gun on himself in the end.
It is unfortunate that the pro-gun movement is going to take a hit for this. Had he not had a gun available, he would have caused his mayhem in some other way.
Mr. Thornton had complained to his superiors about harassment, Joanne Hannah said. A picture of a noose and a racial epithet had been hung on a bathroom wall at the beer distributorship, Ms. Hannah said. She said her daughter told her that Thornton’s supervisors had not responded to his complaints.
“Everybody’s got a breaking point,” Ms. Hannah said, adding that her daughter was with Mr. Thornton on Monday night and had no indication he planned the shooting.
Show the tapes if what you say is true…otherwise I have to withhold belief in what you are saying.
This is a lie and simply a smearing of this man so no one will look at how the company did nothing about the openly hostile work environment he had to endure because of his race. The families of the dead should sue the pants off the company for creating this horrible situation.
