Republican U.S. Senate hopeful Dan Carter will head to Tel Aviv Sunday in search of facts. The three term state legislator announced his mission on Friday afternoon. Carter announced his trip with this statement:
BETHEL, CT: Today, Republican US Senate Candidate Dan Carter announced he will embark on a fact finding mission to Tel Aviv, Israel.
“With so much uncertainty in the world I’m eager to travel to Israel to meet with leaders and dignitaries to discuss national security, and the global war on terror.
“My years of service in the military taught me that policies made from behind a desk or a politician’s microphone don’t always deliver desired results.
“I’m going to talk with leaders representing one of our nation’s greatest allies to better understand how we can work together to solve some of the world’s greatest problems.”

SEEC Set for Wednesday Surrender.
Expect the State Elections Enforcement to adopt the terms of its surrender to the state’s Democtatic committee at a Wednesday morning. The SEEC is expected to end its investigation of illegal campaign spending by state Democrats on behalf of Democratic Governor Dannel P. Malloy’s 2014 re-election campaign.
The SEEC will take the unusual step of ending its investigation before obtaining evidence it has deemed crucial to upholding its public trust. The commission has been engaged in an extended battle to obtain emails exchanged among Malloy and a host of party operatives.
What price betrayal? We will begin to find out on Wednesday.

Pat Longo to Exit Republican National Committee–Stage Right.
Republican stalwart Pat Longo will not not seek another term as Connecticut’s Republican National Committeewoman. The Wilton Republican has served in party positions since 1961. She was elected to the RNC in 2007, after 14 years as the state party’s vice chair. In 2004, Longo made a brave run for the RNC against a crumbling Rowland administration favorite while many others were silent–or worse–in the face of corruption.
Greenwich Republican fundraiser Leora Levy, a Ted Cruz supporter, is expected to make a bid for The beloved Longo’s seat.

Scarborough Hosts Saturday Conclave on Connecticut’s Future.
MSNBC morning host and former U.S. Representative Joe Scarborough will host a small gathering of Connecticut Republicans at his New Canaan home on Saturday evening. The purpose of the dinner is the same one thousands of others are discussing around the state: How do we rescue Connecticut?
Scarborough, who was elected to Congress four times from a Florida district, occupies a powerful perch as co-host of the liberal network’s Morning Joe program. He’s used it to torment Governor Dannel Malloy and announce to a wider world beyond Connecticut Malloy’s manifold and ongoing failings.

MALLOY TO VISIT FAIRFIELD SUNDAY – In a shocking turn of events, Fairfield First Selectman Mike Tetreau has asked Governor Malloy to headline his re-election campaign kick-off event Sunday at 3pm at the Southport Brewing Company. A rally is being planned across the street from the restaurant starting at 2:30pm to show opposition to the Governor’s Budget. If you do attend, we ask that everyone remain civil, do not block access and that everyone be respectful to the businesses in the complex. Southport Brewing Company is very supportive of many organizations in Fairfield and has been the venue for many political events and we hope you will all continue to support this local business.
